How to earn passive income for yourself.

In the past year I have become extremely fascinated by the many different ways of earning passive income. This term is used to describe a regular sum of money being earned by an individual who does not work for an hourly wage. Instead this person invests all their time and money to develop systems and processes that work for them like renting living spaces, or collecting royalties on a copyrighted idea.

Beware of useless so called "Business Partners" who are inactive and bring nothing to the table. At some point you might have to decide to cut the dead weight and go solo. I know I did!

An off-line example would be an apartment building owner who hires a maintenance crew to care for daily operations of the building and a superintendent to manage the property. Then he sits back and collects the monthly rent cheques.

The apartment complex idea of passive income requires a substantial amount of start up capital and personal risk. There are other ways to earn passive income from the internet which are just as hard to do yet much more attainable. Make no mistake though, this is not something the vast majority of people can easily achieve. If you have advanced computer knowledge like I do, maybe you can establish a popular web site on the internet yourself. It is possible to earn a huge amount of passive income with a high traffic web site by advertising with Google’s AdSense program. You still need a solid business plan, HTML/PHP programming language knowledge, graphic design skills and a writer that understands many months/years of hard work are ahead.

   I’ve already proved it is more than possible with my Free-Instrumentals.com project, I don’t sell any beats whatsoever yet I do rely on advertisement revenue through Google and this is how I make money indirectly. I am earning passive income today as a result of many hundreds of boring hours writing code and playing the roll of Web Master, Writer, Marketer, Search Engine Optimizer and Music Producer all rolled into one.

   Anyone who has achieved a level of passive income from the internet will tell you it’s a long road of trial and error before you end up working with the right person or idea to pull it off. There will be no immediate payoff, instead of trading my time for money on an hourly basis like any regular job pays I will invest all of my time setting up systems and processes to work for me automatically. Once systems that are reliable, automated, fully functional, secure and easy to use are established that become the seed of passive income which you can grow.

   Passive income is in my opinion the best way to make a living. It represents the ultimate solution to all my time management issues. I want to spend more time working from home and being with my family and less time earning a crappy hourly wage at a job I don’t enjoy.

   I'm sick of putting other people in control of my money. It's time we all take a serious look at developing multiple streams of passive income and forget about your day job.
